CONTRACT NEGOTIATION STYLE FANTASY FOOTBALL

SIDELINE OWNER PIONEERS CONTRACT NEGOTIATION STYLE FANTASY FOOTBALL
Ability to Offer Multi-Tiered Contract Structures Simulates Owner Experience

On Thursday of last week, Sideline Owner, a subsidiary of Gruyo Sports, LLC, introduced the first Fantasy Football game that allows fantasy players to take charge of all aspects of running a sports franchise. Until now, the more sophisticated fantasy player who follows not just what the players do on the field but also what the management does in the front office was left with an unsatisfying fantasy experience. Sideline Owner Fantasy Football changes that with ingenious features that simulate the experience of owning a sports franchise.

The Sideline Owner model is based on a contract negotiations format in which league owners woo players by offering competing contracts in a free-form negotiation process. Salary terms may span up to five years and are broken down into guaranteed and non-guaranteed money. Contract values are determined by a Standardized Contract Value (SCV) Calculator powered by SO’s proprietary algorithms.

The benefit of contract negotiations as a means of acquiring players is clear to most fantasy sports veterans. Whereas basic fantasy games are based on an unrealistic draft or a simplistic auction, contract negotiations are fair and skill-based; allow fantasy players to play the front office and the field; and accurately reflect how real-life owners and GMs build teams.

The nature of Sideline Owner’s game requires novel interfaces for ‘agent’ capabilities, financial information, and live negotiations which are presented in a streamlined and easily navigable manner.
